The Ripple Effect is a development initiative organised and run by young Victorians for rural Thai communities. The project involves funding community driven initiatives that improve the quality of life for locals through new skills development, improved infrastructure and the improvement of English language skills.

Laura Zeeman, who is an active member of The Ripple Effect, is representing the organisation at FullCodePress.

FCP: How long has the Ripple Effect been running projects in Thailand?
Laura: We have been involved in programs in Thailand for about 10 years and running our own programs for 2 years.
FCP: Could you describe one of your projects?
Laura: Some of our major projects with schools come under our sustainability area of activity. For example, when we put a vegetable garden into a school, this creates vocational skill for students, generates income for the school and the community benefits from the produce.
FCP: How do you think website will help your organisation?
Laura: Communication is huge barrier and obviously the internet is a great resource to communicate to the wider community. We get a lot of enquires but this will allow us to get information out to many more people.
FCP: The team has 24 hours to build your site; do you think any of you will get much sleep?
Laura: I highly doubt it. I don’t think so, it sounds like a very demanding program.

Team Australia will be working with Laura over the next 24 hours to build the site for The Ripple Effect.
