CodeBlacks win!!
19 August 2007 | admin | 37 Comments

The CodeBlacks have won FullCodePress! In an extremely close decision, the judges have gone with the New Zealand team. Judges commented on how well both sides have performed, especially given the nature of the competition – clients they’d never met before, 24hr deadline and incessant interuption to be photographed, interviewed and videoed.
Both clients were ecstatic with the end result, and it’s fair to say there’ll be ongoing relationships between the teams and the clients.
The award for “best and fairest player” went to Ruth Ellison from the Australian team.

That’s it for a while from FullCodePress. We’re off for lunch, a drink and a sleep! Thanks for watching, and we’d love to get feedback on how you found the whole event.

GO YOU KIWI!
That’s funny because on the Ripple Effect website I read this …
“Our Aussie Team breezed through the competition winning over judges and claiming the ultimate prize as the web team!”
Oh dear …
Well done CodeBlacks!

Well done CodeBlacks! You’re a bunch of legends. Let’s hope this is a pre-cursor for the RWC!
Shame I thought the Aussie’s site was better. Oh well there’s always next year.

WELL DONE BOYS AND GIRLS!
I hate to be a hippy, but I actually think both sites are really good. The Oz team a great job and should feel great about the final product, and the New Zealand team claimed a well deserved win. So well done you fellas.
Congrats to both teams for the huge effort and the charities involved on their shiny new websites! w00t!
Well done CodeBlacks and congrats to all people who have involved to make this event a success! We’ll try to send a team from Sri Lanka next time
Cheers!!!
An inspiring event from go to whoa… but a Kiwi win is always sweet, I’ve gotta say. Congratulations!
I am so tired right now.
Good job by everyone involved, right down to the Twitter Haikus.
So do we get post-match interviews? I want to know why the Kiwis picked a bespoke CMS, given the time constraint. I think they were just showing off
Cool!! I’m so pleased that *our team* won, you guys were all awesome & the site looks great
the twitter haiku
was a challenge in itself
but did stave off sleep
Congratulations to both teams, I reckon both sites look great. Good on you Ruth for being the best and fairest
Congratulations also to all the volunteers behind the scenes who helped make the event a success!
Good work team! Jeff – you can come back to work on Monday… since you won.
Congratulations! Well done, both teams! You’re all legends!!
Yippee!
Wooohooo!
Thats great news! Well done team. Looking forward to celebrating with some brews Mark
What a great event! Can’t wait for next year
pwn3d!
It was definitely worth staying up all night twittering, blogging, making fun of each other. Both teams were constantly amazing. While the NZ team had a bit of a problem with PHP, they came thru’ at the end to win the event. While I can’t say for certain how much, but both teams had loads of fun doing this, and sure bearing the pain of not sleeping all night.
Nathan Cox, I think there will be, but don’t hold me to it.
NathanaelB, I second that.
And as Renae says, can’t wait for next year.
w00t!!
Hey, a great competition for a good cause.
And I’d like to hear just a tiny bit more about how Mark Rickerby created the CMS! Any frameworks? Mark, are you out there?
Best,
Forest
Go you code blacks! You’ve done us all proud!
I asked Mark the same question over here and he has responded in the comments.
Good job guys.
