Volunteers working their asses off The event will be held, live on the CeBIT exhibition floorspace – in front of 35,000 people!

What times do you need volunteers?

We are looking for volunteers to help out

  • any time between 11am – 6pm Tuesday 12/5/09
  • 6pm Tuesday 12/5/09 to 9am Wedneaday 13/5/09
  • any time between 9am – 11am Wednesday 13/5/09

Can I get into CEBIT free if I volunteer?

Of course! Anyone who volunteers for FCP can get into CEBIT free using this code: fcpcebit09

What roles do volunteers perform?

  1. live tweeting from your own account and the FCP account
  2. live blogging via FCP website (and own blog if want)
  3. taking photos of the event and posting to flickr/twitpic etc
  4. taking video snippets of the event and handing them over to our video processor
  5. conducting interviews with team members during the event to get insights into their process/methodologies etc.

What’s this about lockdown overnight?

Yes, after 6pm on Tuesday night, the venue will be locked until 9am the following morning. Team members, organisers and volunteers will be locked in the venue until 9am the following morning. We will be providing lots of goodies, nibbles etc for any volunteers who stay the night.

Potential free ticket for overnight shift volunteers?

Correct! Anyone who stays for the night shift 6pm to 9am will be in the running to receive a free ticket to Oz-IA 2009 – the premier Australian event on Information Architecture for the web (valued at over $800). The winner will be drawn at 9am on Wednesday 13/5/09 at the venue.
