The New Zealand selection panel

Facing almost as much pressure as the CodeBlacks is the New Zealand selection panel. The hopes of a nation weigh heavy as they sift through the applications and select the best team possible. Who are the people who would willingly sign up for this pressure…

Mark Rickerby

Mark RickerbyWriter by heart, designer and programmer by obsession, Mark has never been pinned into a single speciality. His code works quietly behind the scenes on various prominent New Zealand websites and his agitated writing is known to cause meltdowns in cognitively inflexible minds.

Having experienced the excitement and nerve wracking tension of FullCodePress first hand in 2007, Mark is enthusiastic and positive about the potential for this event and happy to collaborate again with
former teammates and Webstock alumni – some of his favorite people to work with.

He lives in Berlin where he is currently writing, editing and curating a variety of fiction, non-fiction and design projects, as well as learning (the hard way) about the finer points of multi-lingual website development. Reach him at http://maetl.net/

Ben Lampard

Ben LampardBen is now a veteran of the Wellington web industry and is currently working at NZ Post. Among his many other responsibilities, Ben is the renowned quizmaster for the annual Webstock Pub Quiz and has set up consultations.org.nz.

Ben was a selector for the 2009 codeBlacks and lived to tell the tale.

Alison Green

Alison GreenAlison was also a member of the first CodeBlack team, where she filled the ‘Captain’s Choice’ role. She’s been involved in web development for a number of years and was a finalist in the recent ONYA awards in three categories: ‘Best accessibility‘, ‘Best use of HTML & CSS‘ and ‘Best content (personal)‘.

Her work is showcased at Webweaver Productions.

Zef Fugaz

Zef FugazZef was the User Experience person for the CodeBlacks in the initial FullCodePress. Zef is working towards designing for the ‘elimination of mice’ so in future his kids can just wink, shout or wave their hands around to do neat stuff online. With a background in writing, television, radio and music Zef’s focus is ‘experience design’, which encapsulates strategy, user research, interaction design and information architecture. Zef won an ONYA for his blog zef[a]media in the ‘Best content (personal)‘ category.

Ange Vink

Ange VinkAnge is the wonderful designer behind all things Webstock – the website, the schwag and the collateral. She creates beautiful stuff and her website is doppel.co.nz.

On the south island of New Zealand is the sunniest place in the country and one of the most beautiful cities too. It is called Nelson and lies very close to the Abel Tasman National Park.
