Hi everyone, we are here with Philip Fierlinger, he’s one of the judges of FullCodePress, Happy birthday!
Thank you.
Lovely to have you here.
It’s great to be here.
You have been looking around the rooms, you have been in to each of the teams’ rooms, what are your initial impressions of how they are going?
Definitely super organised, very impressed that I can immediately recognise what’s going on and it’s very familiar to me and there isn’t any kind of chaos or pandemonium that you might expect: panic in the situation; when you’re really under the gun in the crunch. At 2am, 3am, 4am, that might be a completely different story so I think right now it’s just the lead up. But no, it seems like they are really enjoying it. It looks very promising, like some nice work could come out of it. I mean right now it’s at the wireframe stage or the idea stage but you know, pros are at work.
Of the teams you’ve seen, do you think there is one that appears to be ahead of any of the others? Or is it too early to tell?
Well I hate to say this, but the Kiwis seemed a little less organised than the other two teams which you know, different styles, different strokes as they say you know, that’s too early to tell and those guys are extraordinarily talented so I don’t doubt. But just that first impression was that the Australians seemed to be super organised and in terms of planning, they had a plan, they had all their ducks lined up, no messing about. And the Americans were very similar and their focus on the actual execution, seemed like the Australians were focused more on the pieces and the Americans, from what I saw, were more diving into executions ideas. And then the Kiwis seem to be ‘what are we doing’ stage, like it just seemed like they were still not sure what they were actually even going for which seemed a bit like agh…
We noticed before in the break that (the Code Blacks) were very relaxed, they were the only team standing out here eating, everyone else took their food back into the room and cracked on.
Yeah.
Hey thanks for your time .
Thanks and I’m looking forward to see what comes up!
