Team Australia cracking under pressure?

Listen’ Up Ya’ll - Sabotage!

This just in: the Australian client is busted waltzing into the Code Blacks room to ask if they wanted to “go to the pub”. Shocking!

A touch of light reading anyone?

The good folk over at Site Point have been kind enough to donate their engaging reference books for both teams so they now have pride of place in the lock-ins. It begs the question though, are our experts too advanced to actually make use of these rockin’ gifts?

Hot New Videos

I’m inflicting the judges room with the Theme From S-Express, “I’ve got the hots for you!” “ba, bu dam, bababa doo dum” and attempting to blog through the silliness. Here’s some great new videos to keep you amused (because we all know my dorky antics won’t)…

How websites evolve

See how the websites evolve over the 24hrs. We’re taking screenshots of the sites every hour.

All Quiet On The Home Front

The Australian Team have settled down into the finer details now so there is less excited energy and more focused concentration. The smiles are still abounding though, and fresh coffee has arrived so everyone is happy. Jeff asked if he should ‘jump around and shout and stuff’ like the kiwi’s did but I advised everyone to ‘hang onto their dignity’.

Lies, Lies & Statistics?

This just in from Kym, who is monitoring the stats for both sites. So far there have been 150 visitors from around the planet looking at the two sites, including 25 from America and a further 20 from Asia.Kym Kovan - Mort Bay Communication“Considering there is nothing there to look at I think we are going very well” says Kym.Renae (trying not to eat too much mochi on the job)

Re: The Aussie BBQ

Here are the fruits: the Australian team are indeed enjoying themselves. The atmosphere is light. Music and chatter fills the space. The chocolates are out and Dave has now worked out his all-important twitter relationship with fullcodepress, making time to spy on the other team and get the latest updates online. Not to say that the Aussies are frivolous in their joviality because there is a lot progress being made. New pages are being added as I type, information architecture is slowly refined, there’s a hot new logo and colour pallette for the Ripple Effect, the content is in a state of clarification and overall it’s coming along nicely.

I am also impressed by the clients. The girls from Ripple Effect are visiting each team member, checking on progress and making sure there is a consensus in these all-important early concept stages. Emily, however, is not impressed with me for posting that ‘horrible’ picture of her on the nod. I did explain that ‘of course no one really thinks you are asleep, it’s just a bad picture’. I’m sure that went a long way towards healing the rift but it must be pointed out that the press are not here to make friends. I’m here to get the story, or shall I say, fabricate the story. Did I say I was evil? Oh yes, you have been forewarned. Just to make it up to her, here’s a charming picture of attentiveness from Emily, doing a fabulous job:

It’s team NZ full steam ahead

News just in: team NZ have finished their initial briefing with The Grampians Advocacy Centre. The Australians are lagging behind, or still gathering vital information from The Ripple Effect. Maybe it’s part of their plan to not rush this process. Afterall, the more they know about their client’s needs, the better the website will serve them. But, can they afford the time? It’s a delicate trade-off.

Renae.

Asleep on the job! Already?

I know web talk can get a little jargon-laden at time, and the tendency for the non-tech inclined amongst us to nod off every now and then but poor Emily from The Ripple Effect (shown below in the red cardigan) has already been snapped in snooze mode. Tut tut! Time to lift your game girlfriend ;)
